Vogue Paris May 2013: Freja Beha

photo vogue.fr

Just yesterday, French Vogue released the cover of their May issue, photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, dedicated to all things punk, mixed with couture and elegance inspired by the upcoming Cannes film festival.

The pose is somewhat awkward and quite unusual for a magazine cover. The leopard print chair in the bottom corner juxtaposed with the multicolored print of the dress and the color of the shoe seems strange and makes the top half of the photo bare. It would have perhaps worked if the entire background was leopard print.

I must admit I love model Freja Beha Erichsen's expression and face. Even if her hair's a bit strange, this issue is meant to be punk-and-couture, so some strangeness is meant to be there.

The issue will be out in stores on April the 25th.
